Virtual Reality Training

Oculus Rift / Virtual Reality

Project funded by the European Union’s H2020 programme, and consists of a virtual platform made to train Police in responding to terrorist attacks in public spaces (e.g., airports). It was developed alongside police officers, port and rail security personnel.

The virtual training environment runs on the Oculus Rift, desktops, and tablet devices. All the user-interfaces were developed to function across-devices, while taking into account the interaction capabilities and limitations of each of them. This included the detail of designing for touch input, as well as gestural or controller input for virtual reality. In collaboration with Jonathan Sunders.
